Special 4th of July Weekend Event by FTCFTH! Yes we are going back to demand our right to rest, housing we can afford, ending 647e. Donations always needed tents, blankets, food, propane stove and housewares.Cash is always welcome so we can buy the survival stuff we really need. Got big furniture you don't need? Drop it off especially that big ratty sofa the dog sleeps on!
We are going back to city hall. Last time, we went because they made homelessness a crime by creating laws specifically targeting us. We demanded to be allowed to take care of ourselves. We got arrested, had our protest stolen and illegally destroyed by the city. That was in December. Now, it is almost July. Nothing has changed. Tiny homes are being discussed by the city, but discussed is not the same as built. This occupation will save lives. Exposure sucks, and being forced to decide between that or institutionalized care that is abusive, unsafe, bug infested and discriminatory is the choice we get.
This is not what we need. What we need is to be left alone. We need stability. Stability heals. It allows us to improve our lives. It allows us gear storage so we can function. It allows privacy and personal space. We are not children, we are victims of a corrupt system, and uncaring politicians who represent developers and the rich.
Please share this, and try to join us.
